This weeks supplier spotlight features harpist for wedding celebrations and family band 2 of Harps.

With glowing reviews and admirable commitment & dedication, it’s no wonder that Adel and Karina of 2 of Harps have a busy couple of years ahead of them.

If you’re looking for fantastic musicians to play live, unique music on your big day, here’s your introduction to our pick of wedding musicians for our Supplier Spotlight this month.

We chatted with Adel and Karina to learn a little more about them and their fabulous family business…

1. Tell us about yourself and how you got started?

Put simply, we’re a family band. But, for us, sisters Adel and Karina, it’s much more than that. Our music journey began when as young siblings, living on the island of Scalpay (the Western Isles), we discovered the harp for the very first time.

This point of our lives was perhaps one of the most important. It’s where we fell in love with the stunning instrument and music.

Almost thirteen years later, here we are in Kent, a successful family business, an internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning harp and vocal duo, and passionate musicians.

2. Where are you based and how far are you willing to travel?

We are based in Kent and enjoy performing at exclusive events and weddings locally, but are international musicians, so we also love to travel.

Destination weddings are really exciting for us. We are both creative and enjoy languages; speaking a total of four; Spanish, Russian, English and British Sign Language (we’re now also learning French!).

3. How many weddings do you play every year?

We only book a certain amount of weddings each year, allowing us to provide the BEST service possible for our couples.

4. How would you describe your style?

We aren’t your ‘typical harpists’.

Karina also performs the piano, which adds a wonderful touch for couples whose venue has a piano.

Music to us is like magic. We arrange every duet specially to suit our couples’ music style, and blend the feel of every song to fit the atmosphere.

When writing music, our style is a cross of pop, folk and alternative indie genres.

We have performed for couples who enjoy Rock, Motown, Pop, Jazz, Contemporary Classical and many other genres of music.

For fairytale loving couples, we enjoy performing our fantastic Disney Playlist.

6. What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding?

We have three top tips for couples planning their wedding:

1. Take a few moments out of the day to spend alone together. People say the time goes fast, and it truly does fly by.
2. You don’t HAVE to go for the ‘traditional’ options. If you prefer doughnuts to cake, we say ‘go for it’!
3. Book live music. It makes such a difference to your wedding day, and the guests LOVE it!

7. Tell us something unique about your service!

We love writing songs for couples!

There’s nothing more romantic than having a song written specially for your wedding day.

How does this work?

It’s easy! Drop us a line and we’ll arrange an online e-meeting (WhatsApp, Skype, FaceTime, Zoom…). We’ll be a little nosey (not really!) and have a chat with you about how you met, what type of music you both generally listen to, what story you’d like the music to tell and how you would like it to sound – upbeat, chilled, more classical, pop.

The next step is easy. It’s us who do the work! We write your music and any lyrics, then book a day in the studio where we professionally record the song and the studio engineer mixes the track, ready for your special day. We can provide you with a copy via email, or send it directly to your DJ, for that special first dance.

Of course, if we are booked to perform for your wedding day, we will perform your original track during a moment you choose. A perfect time can be as you walk down the aisle, for the signing of the register, or for your first dance. But it’s really up to you!
